Measuring What Matters
At AMJAD, impact is not measured in numbers alone — it is measured in lives changed, dignity restored, and communities strengthened. This page reflects our commitment to transparency, accountability, and the communities we serve.
By the Numbers
Our Reach at a Glance
These figures will be updated as AMJAD collects and verifies program data. All statistics reflect cumulative program activity.
Our Approach
Community Development That Lasts
AMJAD's approach to community development is rooted in partnership, participation, and long-term thinking. We do not arrive with pre-packaged solutions — we listen, learn, and co-design programs with the communities we serve.
Our integrated model addresses education, livelihoods, health, advocacy, and humanitarian support together — because we know that lasting change requires tackling interconnected challenges simultaneously.
Community-Led
Programs are designed with communities, not for them — ensuring local ownership and relevance.
Evidence-Informed
We use data, learning, and community feedback to continuously improve our programs and approaches.
Inclusive
We prioritise the most marginalised — women, youth, people with disabilities, and those living in extreme poverty.
Sustainable
We build local capacity so communities can sustain and scale progress long after our direct involvement.
Education & Skills Development
Supporting Education and Skills Development
Education is the foundation of lasting change. AMJAD supports access to quality schooling through fee sponsorships and learning materials, while equipping youth, women, and men with practical vocational skills — opening pathways to economic independence and self-sufficiency.
- School fee sponsorships keeping children in school
- Educational materials and learning resources for students
- Vocational training in masonry, carpentry, and motor vehicle mechanics
- Baking and food production skills for youth and adults
Agricultural Livelihoods
Strengthening Agricultural Livelihoods
Food security and rural livelihoods are central to AMJAD's mission. We support smallholder farmers and local cooperatives with improved inputs, practical training, and market linkages — helping communities move from subsistence farming toward sustainable food security and economic independence.
- Improved seedlings, livestock breeds, and seedbank resources
- Agricultural machinery and sustainable farming training
- Agribusiness management and value chain development
- Food preservation and post-harvest handling techniques
Restoring Hope & Dignity
Restoring Hope and Dignity
For individuals and families facing crisis, displacement, or trauma, AMJAD provides holistic support that addresses immediate needs while building pathways to long-term recovery. We believe every person deserves the chance to rebuild — with dignity, support, and hope.
- Food, clothing, and hygiene kits for individuals and families in need
- Counselling, trauma healing, and psychosocial support
- Rehabilitation support and emotional wellness programs
- Employability skills and entrepreneurship development
Outreach & Advocacy
Community Outreach and Advocacy
AMJAD works at the community level to raise awareness, prevent harm, and build the social fabric that enables individuals and communities to thrive. Through sustained outreach and strategic partnerships, we help communities identify challenges, access resources, and drive systemic change from within.
- Community awareness and sensitization campaigns
- Substance abuse prevention and youth mentorship
- Community dialogues, workshops, and civic engagement
- Partnerships with government, faith-based, and allied organizations

From the Communities We Serve
Behind every program is a person whose life has been changed. These are the voices of the individuals, families, and community members who have experienced AMJAD's work firsthand.
Before AMJAD came to our village, I watched my children go to bed hungry during the dry season. The agricultural training changed everything. I learned to grow cassava, sweet potatoes, and leafy vegetables year-round using improved seedlings and proper soil care. Today I sell surplus at the Makeni market every Saturday. My three children are all in school. I never imagined this life was possible for a widow like me.
I dropped out of school at fourteen because my family could not afford the fees. I thought my future was already decided. Then AMJAD's vocational program accepted me. I trained in masonry for eight months — the instructors treated us with respect and pushed us to be excellent. I have now built walls for six homes in my community and I employ two younger men from my neighborhood. AMJAD did not just give me a skill. They gave me back my dignity.
When I arrived in the United States I did not know where to turn. I had no family here, no job, and very little English. AMJAD's outreach team found me through a community center and walked with me through every step — housing, documentation, job training, and connecting me to a Sierra Leonean community I could belong to. Three years later I am a certified nursing assistant and I send money home to my mother in Freetown every month. I owe so much to this organization.
Our chiefdom had no clean water source within two kilometers. Women and girls walked that distance twice a day, which meant girls missed school and women could not tend their farms in the morning. AMJAD listened to us — truly listened — and worked with our community to construct a borehole at the center of the village. That single change has transformed daily life for more than three hundred families. Our girls are in school. Our women are farming. We are moving forward.
I was told many times that a girl from my village had no business dreaming of university. AMJAD's education sponsorship paid my secondary school fees when my father lost his job. The program also gave me a mentor — a woman who had grown up in a village like mine and become a teacher. She showed me what was possible. I passed my WASSCE exams and I am now studying public health at Njala University. I will come back and serve my community. That is my promise.
Our church has partnered with AMJAD for several years now, and what sets them apart is their integrity. They do not make promises they cannot keep. They show up, they work alongside the community, and they leave people stronger than they found them. We have jointly supported trauma healing workshops, food distribution during the lean season, and youth mentorship programs. Every collaboration has been marked by professionalism, humility, and genuine care for the people they serve.
